Where are the Others? v0.2.3 Update


Another day, another set of bugs squashed... and another cropped up. By the way, baking lightmaps takes a long time.

What's been changed:

  • Fixed bug where player died immediately on respawn.
  • Weapon adjustments:
    • Ray Pistol: increased projectile speed, reduced fire cooldown, increased size of projectile hitbox.
    • Electro Gun: modified behavior so the missile can be aimed while it's charging the shot.
    • Ice Shotgun: Increased icicle projectile speed, decreased accuracy, overhauled shotgun and icicle particle animations
  • Decreased camera (aiming) sensitivity.
  • Adjusted player's walking speed and jump power.
  • Adjusted masses of each enemy type.
  • Made it easier to pick up keycards.
  • Modified Bloater's death animation and expanded the radius of Bloater's explosion hitbox.
  • Adjusted lighting and post-processing for all levels and the main menu.

What's currently broken:

  • Health bar doesn't display.
  • Ray Pistol may not hit some Bloaters.
  • Some main menu/pause menu screens don't work with the XBOX controller.
  • Lighting may flash in the canyon in Level 1. Framerate may drop on slower machines due to grass/tree drawing.
  • A certain large enemy in Level 1 moves in an unexpected way.
  • Players may start the game with an unexpected amount of ammo.

What's being worked on:

  • Add on-screen information when the player tries to move out-of-bounds, picks up their first ammo for a secondary weapon, attempts to open the first door without a keycard, picks up the first keycard, or enables a checkpoint.
  • Add Controls page on the Main Menu.
  • Fix what I broke.
